Ohio is blessed with an array of organized events that will take cyclists to bicycle paths as well as roads. The scheduled events join the club rides and the impromptu friend and family outings-all looking to share the same space.
The following event information was listed on the Summit Metro Parks website. The events will be utilizing Freedom Trail, the Bike & Hike Trail and the TowPath Trail over the next few weeks. Also, a portion of the TowPath Trail will be resurfaced….
- Freedom Trail: 05/20/17: A school event will bring about 200 people to the Freedom Trail, between Lions Park and Middlebury Road, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The group will be utilizing the parking lot at Lions Park.
- Bike & Hike Trail: 06/04/17: A bicycle ride of up to 500 people will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Highland and Hines Hill roads, and between Boston Mills and Barlow roads.
- Towpath Trail: 05/20/17: An organized run will see 400 people on the Towpath Trail, from the Merriman Valley to Big Bend and back, between 9 and 9:30 p.m.
- Towpath Trail: 05/22/17: Crews will resurface the limestone on the Towpath Trail from Botzum to Weathervane Lane beginning Monday, 5/22. The trail will be open for patron use, but users may experience temporary delays while trucks are hauling materials for the job. This work is expected to take approximately one week.
