Steering around obstacles

by Ruth Kaser for Cycling Articles

We took advantage of the balmy weather and went on a bike ride yesterday afternoon. The temperature was in the upper 30’s, and the walls were closing in on us. Also, after reading the forecast for the week ahead the almost 40 degree temperature on Sunday was noted to be the high temperature for the week.

Potholes and puddles were front and center as ride concerns, surprisingly there were not many people out and about on Hudson Run Road in the afternoon.  There have been several news stories regarding the effects of the cold and the freeze and thaw on the roads. Having seen the sea of cones on several of the road ways yesterday, we can agree with the assessment and are looking forward to moderating temperatures and road repair.

Durbin Magic Freeze was open and busy as we road by yesterday-you probably won’t have to wait in line today if you stopped for a cold treat.
