A little more than 2 years ago we went for a ride on a newly opened paved trail. The trail had been completed in 2011 and everyone who rode on it enjoyed its width, the surrounding scenery, and its condition-it is paved. Don commented that it was a perfect trail for a trike-classic or recumbent as most trikes riding on crushed limestone paths have to deal with at least one wheel riding over an uneven surface.
We had a chance to go back and enjoy a ride on the trail on Sunday afternoon. Although our idea was shared with many other riders the trail did not feel congested. The trail is laid out so that there is grass on either side of the path so that even if you feel the need to pull off of the path on to the grassy side-many spring flower photo ops-it is comfortable to do.
We noted the addition of benches and a sun shelter along the trail since our last ride.
Below are some scenes from our ride on this almost 14 mile -out and back -trail. Our last ride did not start at the Rittman Trail head. This time we started in Rittman by the Depot-whose offerings include snacks and bike rentals, and we turned around at the trails end in Creston.
