Our plans for this weekend

by Ruth Kaser for Shop News

Happy Ride to Work Day! A review of the weekend forecast at Weather Underground shows the following discussion regarding the weekends weather,”The big question of whether it will rain/thunder over your head is still hard to answer and unfortunately the forecast still remains fairly generic with precipitation chances that fluctuate diurnally”.

The annual Cherry Blossom Festival starts today at 5pm, after we close the shop. If you decide to ride your bike in from the TowPath trail or your favorite road route you should be able to enjoy the various food offerings, music, rides, etc. rain free.

We will be doing our Saturday morning bike ride this week. We meet at the Towpath Trail parking lot located at the SE corner of Wooster Rd and 2nd St NW. The ride will begin promptly at 8:30. One of our favorite short routes is the Friendship 7 route

We will be closed all day Saturday. We are a water stop sponsor at the First Merit TowPath Century Ride, and are assisting at the ride. The FirstMerit Towpath Trail Century Ride, May 16 and 17 2015, is a fully-supported 101 mile ride on the historic Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail that celebrates this regional trail and promotes the development of connector trails for the regional trail system. Donations are still being accepted at the Ohio & Erie Canal Coalition website.

There are several bicycle racks around town that provide an opportunity to ride your bicycle in to town and avoid the parking headaches. Once in town you can check out the festival, the shops, the restaurants and the food trucks this weekend.

Casual cycling clothing from Endura. The T-shirts are wicking, and the lined shorts provide a comfortable fit and a casual look.
