Mountain biking updates

by Ruth Kaser for Shop News

Winter brings closings and changes in activities in the Summit Metro Parks. All of the outdoor drinking fountains have been shut off for the winter and will reopen in the spring. In addition, the entrance to the Mountain Bike Area at Hampton Hills Metro Park is closed due to winter conditions. It will be reopened as conditions allow. You will want to recheck the Alerts Page of Summit Metro Parks for news of the entrance reopening. The Top O’ the World Area is closed for the season.  It will reopen in the spring of 2017.

There are various winter activities to enjoy at the parks: sledding, x-country skiing or snow shoeing, ice skating, ice fishing. Check out the winter sports page for the full parks listing.

We offer hiking snow shoes to enjoy the hiking trails when the snow depth is at least 4″
