Great riding weather and ride destinations this week

by Ruth Kaser for NE Ohio Tidbits for Cyclers

The forecast is showing partly cloudy for the rest of this week- great news, no sun glare while riding! On Friday, there will be an 80’s band at the Friday Summer Concert at Lake Anna. The concert starts at 7:30 pm, you will want to utilize head lights and tail lights for your ride into town. We are well stocked with lights. There are several food and beverage opportunities near the concert venue, as well as bike racks.

On Saturday, after you stop in to R-D Bike Shop for your cycling necessities, you will want to head over to West. Tuscarawas Avenue. The street will be closed to through traffic, you can lock up your bike at the bike racks down by Lake Cinema. The event is B.A.M-Barberton Art Mart, and is sponsored by Nine Muses Art Gallery and the Art Center on Tusc. You will have from 10 am till 6 pm to enjoy the offerings at the first summer artisan market.

We will be also be doing our weekly Saturday morning ride at 8:30 am. Meet us at the Towpath Trail parking lot located at the SE corner of Wooster Rd and 2nd St NW. The ride begins promptly at 8:30 and our favorite route is the Friendship 7-it will get your eyes open and blood movin’.

Summit Metro Parks Summer Biking Spree participants have a choice of several rides on the list to check off as completed when you do out and back ride to this weekends events downtown : Barberton ( Fairland Road trail head) north to Summit Lake, Barberton ( Fairland Road trail head) south to Vanderhoof Road, and Bikers Choice (another section of the Towpath Trail that you choose).
