Our ride on Summit Lake

The date-September 2, the place the TowPath Trail. We started again from the Wolf Creek Trail head and rode north. Our goals included lunch and checking out the new section of the TowPath trail over part of Summit Lake.

Once again, the weather cooperated. The temperature was upper 70's, with not a cloud in the sky as we cruised to the new trail head at Wilbeth Road. The picture below is of the new trail head showing final landscaping still being performed.

We continued on the TowPath proceeding to Summit Lake. We wanted to check out the new floating section of the trail. The picture below is the trail as it goes under Kenmore Blvd.

The wood-covered floating section is 14 feet wide and runs 1,645 feet over water, starting at Lewis Street. It is supported by polyethylene filled floats. The section is actually anchored to the bottom of the lake. It sits 16 to 18 inches above the water.

The above photo was taken on the floating section. The handsome gentleman on the right is Don, the D of R-D Bike Shop talking trail with our friend Tom.Stay tuned, for our next ride...
